Jean McGregor is an ice skating coach that is based at Sydney’s Liverpool Catholic Club Ice Rink. While Jean’s speciality and particular interest is Ice Dance, she is more than happy to work with skaters of all disciplines and at any ability level.
As a key element of her coaching ethos Jean recognises that team coaching– where more than one coach collaborate to produce the complete athlete – can be vital for any skaters development. This is key to the inviting atmosphere at LCC.
Jean strongly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to try Ice Skating and welcomes everyone onto the ice.
Jean has been an active and enthralled skater since she first skated in May 1971 at the Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink. Some of her personal achievements – excluding her immense pride at seeing her present skaters succeed – in the National Ice Skating Association of Australia (now Ice Skating Australia Inc.) tests include: Preliminary Free Skating; Bronze School Figures; Inter-Gold Compulsory Ice Dance (equivalent of current Senior test) and 1st Free Dance test. She was also the 1978 Sydney Ice Dance Preliminary Gold Medallist with Kevin Boroszky.
